Sydney is the largest city in Australia standing on Australia's south-east coast, on the Tasman Sea. It is the state capital of New South Wales. The City covers approximately 26.15 square kilometers, within the Sydney metropolitan region. In June 2010 the greater metropolitan area had an approximate population of 4.76 million people. That’s why; Sydney is often called as the most populous city in Australia. Sydneysiders is term used to describe inhabitants of Sydney, comprising a cosmopolitan and international population.

Over the past decade, the City has become the largest and the fastest growing local government area with variety and diversity of four million people. While Australia has numerous attractions, Sydney is perhaps the most elegant and sophisticated of them all. As the central business of district, Sydney is famous for its modern high- rise buildings and roads across the water at green headlands of national parks and comfortable garden suburbs.  To the west, the World Heritage Blue Mountains stand as a spectacular barrier to the inland, while the ever-changing moods of the Pacific Ocean dominate the beaches, which stretch for miles north and south from the forbidding cliffs of Sydney Heads.  Sydney’s cultural scene is vibrant.

Built around the hills surrounding one of the world's largest natural harbor, Port Jackson, which is commonly known as Sydney Harbor, Sydney is the largest and most dynamic economy in the country, with a highly skilled, multi- lingual workface and quality lifestyle. Sydney Harbor is commonly referred to as the most beautiful natural deep- water harbor in the world. It’s also a natural playground for Sydneysiders and visitors who use it for sailing, swimming, diving and walking around its foreshore. On a warm sunny day, the harbor is a vibrant blue and dotted with hundreds of sailing boats, cruise boats and ferries.

As well as being famous for its modern and colorful buildings, Sydney also has many attractions which visitors can enjoy. One of them is Opera House which is designed with modern and beautiful architecture. It is the cultural institutions of Sydney. The unique Opera House is place to the Australian Opera, Sydney Symphony Orchestra and Australian Chamber Orchestra, as well as the Australian Ballet and Sydney Theatre Company.  

The top of all, what makes Sydney becomes wonderful place to visit is the climate. Sydney has a very pleasant temperate climate. Sydney’s subtropical climate gives average temperatures ranging from 16° C in the winter months to 26° C in summer.  November is spring in Australia, a time of year when Sydneysiders and visitors can enjoy average maximum temperature of 24° C.
