Hong Kong Disneyland is the first theme park in Hong Kong. It is located on reclaimed land in Penny’s Bay, Lantau Island. The park is managed by the Hong Kong International Theme Parks. Together with Ocean Park Hong Kong, it is one of the two large theme parks in Hong Kong.
Hong Kong Disneyland opened to visitors since 12 September 2005. The park has a daily capacity of 34,000 visitors, the least of all Disneyland parks. The park also turned a net profit of HK$109 million for the year ended 29 September 2012, the first annual profit. The Park consists of seven themed areas: • Main Street, U.S.A
The first theme park you might come across is Main Street, U.S.A. Here, you will be amazed by the delicate buildings, clim gas lamp, and Paddy Wagon passing by. It is designed to resemble an early 20th- century Midwest town.
• Fantasyland
This part of park will bring you to life in characters and places from Disney’s movies for children. Don’t hesitate to come into Fantasyland. Cinderella Carrousel, The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh, Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Sword in the Stone, Mad Hatter Tea Cups, Sleeping Beauty Castle, Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Snow White Grotto to make all your dream come true.
• Adventure land,
If you feel courageous, try Adventure land. Guided by a brave captain, Jungle River Cruise will take you into the heart of hidden regions. Here, hippos, cobras, elephants, orangutans and startling jungle events are waiting for you. Festival of the Lion king will keep your eyes glued on the show.
• Tomorrow land
Screaming in Space Mountain, you will have no time appreciate the sparkling starts because of the exciting roller coaster. In Buzz Light-year Astro Blasters, you can fly in your space capsule and fight against the aliens with your space gun. Orbitron is a good choice for you to fly above Tomorrow land and take a rest.
• Grizzly Gulch
It is a part of Land which reminiscing an abandoned mining town set amidst mountains and woods.
• Mystic Point
It is heart of dense, uncharted rain forest where supernatural events take place. The site features Mystic Manor, home of Lord Henry Mystic, a world traveler and adventurer and his mischievous monkey, Albert.
• Toy Story Land
This part of Land is designed based on the Disney Pixar film series Toy Story, such as an enlarged Woody, Rex, an oversized paper plane, and Luxo Jr. Toy Story Land is themed using bamboo to act as giant blades of grass surrounding the area.
Hong Kong Disneyland is a must- see because of its special attractions and the inimitable sense of Chinese culture. When you are walking into it, you feel you are in wonderland. The theme park’s cast members speak in Cantonese, English, and Mandarin. Guide maps are printed in traditional and simplified Chinese as well as English and Japanese.
