The Ocean Course is one of five golf courses that are part of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort. It is located on Kiawah Island, a South Carolina barrier island that abuts the Atlantic Ocean. The resort is approximately 30 miles southwest of Charleston, S.C. Its name is Ocean Course because it lies on a beautiful barrier island just a few miles from historic Charleston, South Carolina. Not only experiences with challenging play but Ocean Course also offers everyone with beautiful view of island that is natural.
It is famous as the toughest golf courses in the USA, and may be in the world. What makes it so tough? Strong winds that blow in no prevailing direction; forced carries over marshes and waste areas; long waste areas; and length are some factors to make it as hard golf courses.

When The Ocean Course hosted the 2012 PGA Championship, it became just the fourth golf course to be used for all three of the PGA of America's major championships (PGA Championship, Senior PGA Championship, and Ryder Cup). The Ocean Course is a par 72, and it stretches to 7,676 from a variety of tees that go as low as 6,202 yards. The course is now open to the public. Have your great experience from any tees on the sand-and-lagoon nature of a barrier island.
No carts; handicap required; packages from $200-450 depending on season.
