Amazing City of Marmaris in Turkey

Marmaris is a town in Turkey. It is famous as a port town and tourist resort located at southern Aegean coast in Muğla Province, southwest Turkey. It is one of the beautiful cities in Mediterranean coast with its population around 28000 inhabitants. However, the population can be up to 250,000 during the height of the tourist- season. So, Marmaris' main source of income is tourism.

Marmaris can be another choice for destination because it offers many vacation spot. The city is wonderful place with some energizing attractions which primarily attract lots of British holidaymakers, many of whom return year after year. But, recently Marmaris has become popular with Russian and other Eastern European visitors. Many tourists prefer to visit in the early autumn, especially in September, because the temperatures are not as hot.

The most interesting attraction in Marmaris is Turkish Night. It is a chance to experience Turkish culture and traditions. It starts with live Turkish music, followed by belly dancing and Turkish folkdance. Visitors can enjoy the dinner from 8.30pm until midnight. The menu includes Turkish traditional cuisine like salad, kebabs with rice, borek (filled pastry) and fruits.

There are plenty things to do in Marmaris. Visiting Koycegiz Lake and Dalyan Caunos is good choice for visitors. Here, visitors can discover some of the natural sites surrounding Marmaris while enjoy waterfall, sail down the Dalyan River and take in the eerie Rock Tombs dating back to 400BC, plunge into natural sulphur mud baths and smother in therapeutic mud. Visiting Turtle Beach is also wonderful experience to see one of the last breeding grounds of the rare Longgerhead turtles.

The trip to Marmaris is not complete without visiting Pamukkale. It offers spectacular site of Turkey. There are white wonderland of stalatities, cataracts and basins that cling to the side of a ridge and have served as natural spa pools since Roman Times.
