Siam Paragon “the Center of Thailand”

Siam Paragon is a shopping mall in Bangkok, Thailand. It is also considered as one of the biggest shopping center in Asia. Siam Paragon is an immensely popular shopping mall housing a host of international high- end fashions brand. Located prominently in front of Siam BTS Skytrain station, the interchange of the two BTS lines, it is considered by many to be the centre of Bangkok.

Siam Paragon was designed by J.H Boiffils. Opened on December 9, 2005, it includes a wide range of specialty stores and restaurants as well as a multiplex movie theater and the Siam Ocean World aquarium and an exhibition hall and the Thai Art Gallery and also an opera concert hall.

Movie Theater consists of 15 large theaters with one of them having the biggest screen and seating capacity in Asia. The Siam Ocean World aquarium is the underwater world and the largest aquarium in South East Asia. There are some animals live in the aquarium. They are penguins, gray nurse sharks, rays, giant spider crabs, and giant groupers. The shopping mall also has a large bowling alley and karaoke centre. 

The Paragon Department Store comprises 50,000 square meters. Another 40,000 square meters are devoted to retail shops selling luxury brand apparel jewellery, electronics, musical instrument, audio equipment, sporting goods and exotic supercars, as well as a Kinokuniya, SE- ED Book Centre book store.
Siam Paragon has several restaurants and food outlets from other countries, including Tony Roma’s, McDonald’s, KFC, Haagen- Dazs, Swensen’s Ice Cream, LeNotre, MOS Burger, Saint Etolie Bakery, Orvin and many others. Popular domestically run foreign oriented restaurants include Fuji Japanese and Kabuki Japanese Restaurant.

Considering the mall contains over 250 shops, the layout is logical and fairly compact, certainly when compared to the sprawling Central World mall nearby. However, this mall provides mainly luxury items for well- heeled Thais and international visitors with cash to splurge. If you are looking for something extra- special then Siam Paragon is definitely the place to find it.
