Veneto or Venetia is one of the twenty regions of Italy. The name Veneto comes from the first tribes that settled down in the area: the Venetos. It is located in the north-east of Italy, bordering to the north Austria and the Italian region Trentino-Alto Adige, to the east the Italian region Friuli and the Adriatic Sea, to the south the Italian region Emilia Romagna, to the west the Italian region Lombardy. Veneto is the 8th largest region in Italy, with a total area of 18,398.9 km2 (7,103.9 sq mi) and 4.9 million inhabitants. 

The capital of Veneto is Venice. It is known as one of the best-known cities in the region. The famous lagoon city is also one of the main sights of Italy.The typical view is the Venetian lagoon Veneto coast, and, standing right on the lagoon's most unique city in the entire world – Venice. It is visited by millions of tourists every year.

Veneto is divided into 7 provinces: Venice, Treviso, Vicenza, Verona, Padua, Rovigo, Belluno. For years Veneto has been described with slogans in order to express with one or a few words, a complex and variegated reality like that of a Region in which tradition go together with modernity, autonomous impulses and a marked sense of State, technological and industrial innovations with relevant agricultural activities.
