Krakal beach is famous, it becomes one of the beach in the end of  south Jogja that have the an amazing beautiful scenery. The low beach line and white sand with clear waves. The reef stands beautifuly in the beach become home for the colorfully reef fishes. The yellow blueish back damselfish, dark and light blue stripes butterfly fish, also a group of small light blue fish swimming among the reef. The strecth foot out of black starfish behind the rock from their hiding place.

Bored playing in the beach? Try to walk a long the open beach. The row of reef that can be seen from surface seems like road in the sea. Don’t forget wear footwear because it was the sharpen rocky road. Some fisherman cross, looking for strategic place to throw out the fishing rod. The sea-bed dominate by reef so the surfer should be extra careful. Dry season between March to September is the best period for waiting the barrel in Krakal.

Although it states around 2 hours far from Yogyakarta by car, the road access to Krakal beach is good enough and flat. The row of diner and some hotels can be found easily near the beach, make you easier if you wanna stay while waiting the beast wave for surfing. But, surfing is not one of kind the popular sport for local villagers. You should bring your own stuff because there is no rental surfing board yet.

 Depok Beach serves fresh fish and other seafood in nuance of coast restaurant. Not far from the beach you can enjoy the scenery of dune or hills of sands, and it is  the one and only in the South East Asia. Among of the beaches in Bantul, Depok beach seems like arranged to be seafoods culinary resorts. There are tier of tranditionally restaurant that serving seafoods not far from the beach. Some diner arrange intentionally facing to the south, so while savoured the seafoods, yo can look to the scenery of the open sea roughned.

Peculiar nuance of diner coast and the fisherman activities of Depok beach has been growing up since ten years ago. Besides Juni to September, the fish catching result was not bad.

Because of the big amount of the catching, so the local villagers open a public sale or fish auction called Mina Bahari 45. The fish auction in this beach accept fish from the villagers that catching fish from other beach. Time by time a lot of visitors coming to the beach that have  1,5km away from Parangtritis, so they open seafood diners. Gnerally the diners near the beach giving tranditional nuance. The diners looks homely with pyramid roof, while the sitting designed on the floor without chair and small tables. Altough it was modest the diners was clean and comfort.

The various seafood can be tasted. Th most famous sea food and cheap is Cakalang fish. The other variety fish can be tasted is white Kakap and red Kakap. The expensive one is Bawal. There is crab, shrimp, and cuttlefish. The sea food can be grilled or fried.

After satisfied by the sea food, you can go out to the beach and turn right to the Parang kusumo and Parangtritis. There you can find the unique and rare scenery, it was dune or hills of sand, locally called Gumuk Pasir. The dune (Gumuk pasir) is the one and only in the South East Asia and it was a rare phenomena that can be found in the tropic area. Here, you can enjoy the open sand look a like desert.

Gumuk pasir near Depok beach formed since thounds year ago by unique process. Long time ago there was a lot types that formed, there are barchan dune, comb dune, parabolic dune and longitudinal dune. Nowaday just barchan dan longitudinal. Sea wind and steep hill in the east flew the result of Merapi activity from dregs near beach to land, and become the dune or gumuk. For enjoying the seafood and gumuk pasir scenery, you can through the same route with Parangtritis from Yogyakarta. After get the Parangtritis retribution post you can turn right to Deok beach.
